HDR or not?

A few days ago I tried my hands at shooting HDR (High Dynamic Range) for the first time. In essence what this means is that you try to compensate for the fact that with a camera you have to choose if you want detail in the shadows or in the highlights (such as clouds).

First attempt at film

On the way home from a meeting of the local photo club I decided to make a left turn instead of right, since I had my photobag with me. I drove a few hundred meters and ended up at a local ancient monument. I walked around a little bit and snapped some photos.

Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 on the way

I’ve just received confirmation that a spanking new Tamron 70-200 f2.8 is heading my way. I’m really looking forward to trying it out properly (I tried it out a bit at the fair, and got convinced enough to be sure I would like it).

Fine-tuned the autofocus for my lenses...

I just did a fine-tuning of the AF metering for my lenses paired with the K-7.

The 24mm F2.0 was practically spot on from the beginning (needed only -1 on a scale from -10 to +10), and the 18-55 WR was also quite good (+2), but surprisingly the 50mm F1.4 was way off, needed

New Pentax K-7 purchased at the photo fair!

I was at the Photo fair in Gothenburg today. It was a very nice experience, lots of things to see, and more importantly try out. I was very interested with the photo studio setups shown, with everything from cheap 250 SEK reflectors to huge softboxes and digital backpieces costing more than an average
